Case study · Custom restaurant operating software

Le Yard OS

One operating system built alongside the restaurant

A mobile-first restaurant workspace for reservations, guests, scheduling, service, purchasing, inventory, closeout, tips, tasks, reporting, and role-aware operations.

The problem

Le Yard is being built as a real restaurant on Ninth Avenue. Its opening systems would otherwise be split across reservation tools, messages, spreadsheets, paper checklists, vendor notes, and what individual managers remember.

The intervention

Donald designed Le Yard OS around the operating day itself: what owners, managers, chefs, hosts, and staff need before service, during service, at closeout, and when planning the next week. The release candidate connects those surfaces with tenant and location boundaries, private files, audit trails, reporting, and guarded actions.

The lesson

The strongest operating software is shaped while the business is being built. Product decisions become clearer when they are tested against the real room, real roles, real service sequence, and real financial controls.

Where it applies

Restaurants and hospitality groups that have outgrown a patchwork of texts, spreadsheets, separate dashboards, paper checklists, and staff knowledge that is difficult to transfer.

Results describe the published evidence documented for this project and do not guarantee the same outcome for another business. Context, starting point, market, execution, and timing all matter.
